These opportunities are noted on our list of current courses. This program begins in the design studio for several weeks where students gain experience in group design and facilitation as well as project management. Students should be prepared to have their creative boundaries pushed as they learn essential drawing and drafting skills that will allow them to effectively communicate their design thinking. Following this design intensive, students translate theory into practice as they begin construction on an architecturally innovative shelter of their own design.
Students in this program have the option to earn 15 credits. As a continued commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, Yestermorrow offers a 5 tier sliding scale for tuition. Rogers will spearhead the implementation of Yestermorrow's master plan, which includes campus-wide infrastructure improvements such as building new student housing. He'll also oversee much of Yestermorrow's 40th anniversary programming and initiatives. Waitsfield's Yestermorrow Design/Build School is entering its 40th year with new but familiar leadership. Last week, the nonprofit announced the hiring of executive director Britton Rogers. The architect and landscape designer has a 10-year relationship with the school, first as a student and then, since last year, as an instructor and full-time staff member. For the UMass classes, it’s listed for $6,800 for a semester, and Yestermorrow adds another $9,000, so it ends up being over $15,000 for tuition plus room and board.
